B&Q was founded in 1969 by Richard Block and David Quayle and since that time has grown to be the largest DIY store in the UK and the third largest worldwide. B&Q offer a wide range of products for plumbing, decorating and general DIY. As well as having over 300 superstores, B&Q also sell many products online. In 2008 B&Q was ranked 88th out of 500 in the Superbrands list of company brands with the best reputation, which placed it higher than main competitors Jewson, Wickes and Travis Perkins.
B&Q provide Buying Guides to help customers make informed decisions about products they are considering buying. These guides also explain what many of the appliance specific terminology actually mean in simple English to ensure that customers make the right choice of product.
